It was really frustrating to spend the better part of my day dealing with Garmin. I found it similar to use as in MapSource and quite easy to select the particular location I wanted to navigate to. Garmin no longer makes or supports nRoute. I can't say if the updated map is of value in your area. I have it working with the software-only version of Mobile PC but it's not just plug-and-go like it is with nRoute. Unfortunately, the app won't be able to enable auto-routing except for City Select or City Navigator products that have been unlocked beforehand and a GPS unit that has been unlocked to those products.

If nothing else read through a couple of threads that compare Mobile PC and nRoute. Preferences nRoute has softwaer same preferences as MapSource, but the user created settings in MapSource did not transfer over when nRoute was installed, instead the default settings for the program are in place.

I really liked the way MapSource functioned. The graphics are superb and for basic nav functions it's really simple to use. Softeare is, it will not work with Mobile PC without some help.
You cannot download information from your GPS into nRoute, with the exception of the track data it records while connected to nRoute. Hell I don't even know if they'd do that. The people at Garmin, or atleast the ones I spoke with, had gar,in opinions on whether or not I could view the map information supplied with MobilePC
